Ranger 800 HD utility vehicles from Don Wood Polaris, Athens, Ohio, feature an 800cc, twin EFI engine that provides 15% more power and a top speed of 85.3 km/h, helping to tackle tough and heavy jobs.

The Ranger 800 HD utility vehicles have a 907kg towing capacity and large 680kg payload capacity. The rear dump box has a capacity of 453.6 kg and also features a self-cleaning hinge and easy, one-hand tailgate latch.

These capacities combined with the Polaris Accessory Lift and Carry System make the Ranger 800 HD work even harder and reduce work time. The hydraulic Lift and Carry system enables moving, plowing, or grappling up to 227 kg loads.

The Polaris long-travel Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) features Nivomat shocks to offer exclusive self-leveling suspension. When the Ranger HD starts moving, the shocks start working. The shocks automatically lift the 454 kg capacity box to near its unloaded height, maximising suspension travel to 24.4 cm in the front and 22.9 cm in the rear, and ground clearance to 30.5 cm. This keeps the ride smooth during all kinds of heavy-duty applications.

The Ranger HD utility vehicle also features Variable Assist Electronic Power Steering (EPS), which facilitates easy steering at slow speeds and adjusts as the speed increases, providing control and comfort. For an even better ride, the Polaris On Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system automatically engages when more forward traction is needed. It reverts to 2WD automatically when AWD is no longer needed.

The Ranger 800 HD utility vehicle has three seats that include seatbelts and comfort isn’t compromised with the angled seat backs for car-like comfort and larger seating with more leg space. The new tilt steering and redesigned steering wheel caters for people of any height and gives up to 50% easier steering effort. The Ranger 800 HD has near zero bump steer so the driver can stay focused on the track ahead, and a re-orientated accelerator and brake pedal to reduce fatigue.

Other Polaris features that come standard are certified Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) and new heavy-duty front-end protection. The headlights are inset for protection against rock chips and branches, and there is also protection for critical components such as the radiator, coolers and front differential. Dedicated vehicle tie down points and an inset tow hook cage give additional front differential protection.
